Michelle Giangiulio was born and raised on a horse farm in New Jersey. Her father and grandfather bred New Jersey-breds and ran at Garden State and Atlantic City racetracks. She got into horses at a very young age and started out showing in 4H and state competitions. At the age of 14, she got her first job at a show horse farm where learned about the business of showing horses over the course of six years. She left the show world at the age of 20 and decided to join her uncle, Juan Carlos Guerrero, a thoroughbred race horse trainer at Parx, to try out the world of racing working for him. She worked at the track under his wing for four years and eventually went on to work for trainer Chad Brown, Joe Sharp and a few other at Belmont Park.
On November 1, 2017, Michelle joined Team Morley and has since worked as an assistant trainer to Tom Morley. Her greatest memory working with the team: traveling to Arlington Park in 2018 with runner Carrick, watching him win the Secretariat stakes (G1) at odds of 38-1. A hard-working woman dedicated to caring for our wonderful animals, Michelle can be found in the shed row of our barn at just about all hours of the day.
